Exercise for Stress Relief

Exercise should be approached from a knowledgeable, practical attitude of knowing. It is much safer to be a student. When beginning an exercise program always learn how to do the exercises the proper way. This will prevent injury. Injuries are a huge reason for failing a program as they can create a major delay in reaching your goals. If you already know what you are doing, then great! What are you waiting for?

If you have not exercised or want to begin a program, I strongly suggest you have at least six sessions with a trainer. A trainer can teach you ow to do the exercises properly and safely. After completing six weeks of your program, have another six sessions with a trainer to take you to he next level.

There are four parts to a workout.

These four arts are:

  1. Warm-up
  2. Cardio-vascular Training
  3. Resistance Training
  4. Stretching/Cooling Down

The Warm–Up

Slowly increase your heart rate to help prepare our body for more vigorous exercise by doing  ten minute warm-up. Some ways you can arm up are:

  1. Walk around the room gently bouncing up nd down on your toes like a boxer
  2. Tai-Chi exercises
  3. Gentle jogging on the spot

Activities like these will increase your heart rate slowly nd raise your body temperature. When you feel your
body temperature rising, this tells you that your body s warming up and preparing for your exercise routine.

REMEMBER: Never exercise without a warm-up s doing so greatly increases the chance of injury.

Cardiovascular Routine

Twenty minutes of cardio is a great way to prepare our body for the next phase. This can be done on he treadmill, a brisk walk around the neighborhood, r even chasing the kids around the park. Resistance Training each day for twenty minutes you will train a different muscle group. The trainer will teach you ow to isolate muscles and work at the right weight, the right speed, and the right angle which maximizes he effects and gives you the results you desire. If you prefer to learn this process on your own, go to he library and borrow videos or DVD’s that show demonstrations of how to perform the exercises.  These DVD’s and videos will also show you what ind of equipment you will need. Remember, working out safely is essential!

Stretching and Cooling Down

It is necessary at the end of each workout to take the time to complete a ten minute cool-down. Again, I just emphasize the importance of learning the proper technique. Even during stretching, you can seriously injure yourself without much effort!
The last component of a successful workout is the cool-down. A good way to cool-down your body s simply to walk either around the track in the gym you workout at, or around the block of your neighborhood.
